We are thrilled to announce that Willful is now available for all Manitoba residents!
Willful’s mission is to help ensure every Canadian has an estate plan in place and that’s why we’re excited to announce that we’re launching today in Manitoba. Without the typical barriers associated with estate planning - primarily time and cost - residents can create a last will and testament, Enduring Power of Attorney, and Representation Agreement online in less than 20 minutes at Willful.co.
Death is one of the few things we can be certain of in life, yet the majority of Manitobans haven’t made plans for it. A recent survey found that 59% of Manitobans do not have a will and that number jumps to 66% when including Manitobans who do not have an up-to-date will. The most commonly cited reason for not having a will is good old fashioned procrastination, with 37% of residents reporting not having a will because they keep putting it off.
With access to an easy-to-use online platform like Willful, we’re hoping to change these numbers dramatically. The platform guides customers through a series of questions about their unique life situation, helping them to outline their executor, guardians for minor children or pets, beneficiaries, specific or charitable gifts, and burial and funeral wishes.
Willful partners with leading estate lawyers in each of our active provinces to create the legal content, and in Manitoba we’ve partnered with Samphir Law, an established law practice based in Winnipeg that specializes in wills and estates.
