There’s no denying that 2020 has been a rollercoaster of a year. A lot has happened in the world over the last 365 days and Willful is no exception. To celebrate the end of.. well, whatever this year was, we’re taking a look back at some of the top Willful milestones of 2020.

32,000+ Estate Planning Documents Created For Canadians

If we learned anything this year, it’s that you can never be too prepared. That being said, emergency planning should always be a priority for Canadians. Having an up-to-date estate plan is one of the best ways to prepare you and your loved ones from the unexpected. We’re honoured to have helped our fellow Canadians complete over 32,000 legal estate planning documents this year.

2900 Plans Donated To Frontline Healthcare Workers

This year Willful supported our frontline healthcare workers with free emergency planning. We couldn’t help hospitals by manufacturing masks, but we can ensure that healthcare workers are protected with important estate planning documents. We initially committed to donate 1000 plans to healthcare workers this year, but the outpouring of support has inspired us to keep the initiative going. We’ve provided 2900 healthcare workers the keys to complete their wills and power of attorney documents so far in 2020.

If you’re a doctor, nurse, paramedic, or other healthcare professional who is risking your own health and safety by treating COVID-19 patients in hospitals and urgent care centres, we’re still here to support you.

10,400 Pets Included In Their Pawrents Wills

Pets and their pawrents loved Willful this year! While many Canadians have informal plans in place for their furry companions, designating a pet guardian and pet trust in a will adds an extra layer of security for your plan in the event you’re incapacitated or pass away. We’re proud to say over 10,400 pets were included in Willful wills this year. That’s over 10,000 pets that we know will be taken care of in the event of an emergency!

    $1.1M Raised In Investments

We couldn’t celebrate the end of the year without a special shout out to our investors. Fundraising in the wake of COVID-19 was a rollercoaster, but we officially closed our last round of seed financing in June of 2020!

1842 Personal Phone Calls And Live Chats

We know that estate planning can be overwhelming and confusing, while we love email,  sometimes it just helps to speak with a human. This is why we’ve made it easy to speak to an expert on our team either through live chat or over the phone! This year we spoke with over 1842 Willful customers to help guide them through the process of making a will.
